Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE ZADOROZNY It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Sophie Zadorozny on May 3, 2003 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband Steve in 1976, to whom she was married to for almost 35 years. She was also predeceased by her five sisters and one brother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her only daughter, Janet Kostyshen; son-in-law Dave; grandchildren, Jody Quilty and her husband Gary, and Anita Filmore and her husband Greg; as well as two great-grandsons, Dylan and Bryce. She was happy to have visited with her entire family on Easter Sunday, including seeing Dylan and Bryce, whom she adored. Mom was born August 28, 1919 and was raised in Green Oak. She married Dad on November 16, 1941 and together they farmed just a mile away from where Mom was raised. After Dad died, she continued to raise chickens and pigs, and grew a garden for many years. She loved her farm and the country life. Moms greatest wish was to stay there until the end. A wish we are all grateful to have let her fulfil. She was known for her good cooking, and took great pride in entertaining anyone who came to visit. She always made you feel welcome. Mom was a very hard working woman, no job was too big or too small, and she gave it her all. She prided herself in independence. In the later years, she learned crocheting and rug hooking, and did them as winter projects with great pride. Mom, I will forever miss your smile. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m., also at the chapel, with Rev. Fr. Ivan Demkiv, the celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic cemetery, Ladywood. Pallbearers will be Raymond Chraplewe, Greg Filmore, Clarence Matychak, Ed Panas, Gary Quilty, and Roy Rudachek. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society, 102 - 310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. We love you and well miss you VICHNAYA PAMYAT SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB toll free 1-877-776-2220
